The License Office
in St. Clair, Missouri, is managed and operated by the St. Clair Area
Chamber of Commerce and is housed in the same building as the Chamber
Office at 920-F Plaza Drive.
SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN VISITING THE LICENSE OFFICE
*When renewing the license for your vehicle, you will need your
Proof of Insurance, Paid Personal Property Tax receipt, Safety
Inspection sheet and an Emissions Inspection Sheet - these inspections
are needed only in even years if your vehicle is an even year model and
in odd years if it is an odd year model.
*For new Driver's License, Driver's Permit or Non-Driver photo I.D.,
you will need to bring the following:
1. PROOF OF LAWFUL PRESENCE
For US citizens you will need one of these--
*US birth certificate (certified with embossed or raised seal issued by
state or local government)
*US passport (valid or expired)
*Certificate of Citizenship
*Certificate of Naturalization
*Certificate of Birth Abroad
For Non-US citizens--
You must be prepared to present documentation indicating current status.
Expiration dates will vary.
2. PROOF OF IDENTITY
For both citizens and non-citizens--
*Provide Social Security Number, if one has been assigned; or
*If a Social Security Number has not been assigned, the applicant must
present a letter from the Social Security Administration (SSA) regarding
the status of the applicant's Social Security Number.
3. PROOF OF NAME CHANGE (If name on original birth
certificate is different than current name)
You must provide one of the following documents--
*US Passport (valid or expired)
*Social Security Card or Medicare Card
*Certified Marriage License
*Certified Divorce Decree
*Certified Court Order
*Certified Adoption papers or Amended Birth Certificate
4. PROOF OF RESIDENCE
You must provide one of the following documents--
*Most recent utility bill
*Most recent voter registration card
*Most recent government check
*Most recent pay check
*Most recent property tax receipt
*Housing rental contract for current residence
*Mortgage document for current residence
*An official letter from another state or local government agency, not
previously listed, on agency's letterhead, with the official agency
seal-- Must be issued within the past 30 days.
*Letter or other documentation issued by the postmaster within the last
30 days.
*Other government document that contains the name and address of the
applicant issued within the last 30 days.
